Day 26/365 It’s time to go, pairs of shoes

When Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines was overthrown in 1986, it was reported that his wife Imelda, fleeing the country, left behind between 2 and 3 thousand pairs of shoes. Don’t feel sorry for her; she returned to Manila in 2001, reentered politics and opened a shoe museum.
Although there seems to be universal agreement among the sexes that women like shoes, the agreement stops there. When a woman tells another woman that she needs another pair of shoes, she hears, “You go, girl.” Men just don’t get it.
I won’t get into a commentary on Imelda’s shoe addiction, but I do kind of get it. Thus, getting rid of these two pairs yesterday wasn’t easy. Why not keep them just in case? But no, I don’t like them, nor are the comfortable; I won’t wear them. Off they go to the church rummage sale that is coming up October 12 and 13. Um, I wonder if Imelda ever let go of a pair?
