When
we were growing up I wasn’t given many hand-me-downs from my sister—wrong size,
wrong color, wrong style, worn out? Now, however she is always giving me bags
of clothes and they are never the
wrong size, color or style and are never
worn out. My sister has excellent taste and as the expression goes, she dresses
to the current style. She is also a minimalist so the minute she’s through wearing
anything, out it go…to me.
Many of the clothes I now wear are from
her. However, how many white summer pants can I wear in a season? And how much
closet room do I have? So, in keeping with my commitment to simplify my life
and to get let go of what I don’t need, I’m bagging pants, shirts, sweaters, and
jackets with a sign, ‘Church Rummage Sale’ stapled on front. The bag is on the
way to the attic waiting for the fall sale.
