Day 45/365 It’s time to go, curtains with moth holes

       Yesterday was the day to change the kitchen curtains from summer blue-and-white-stripes to winter woolen tartans. I’ve been making this seasonal switch for more than twenty years, so I consider myself a pro. Easy job; down goes one set, up goes the other. But this time things were different: light was shining through newly created moth holes.

These curtains, custom-made by a teacher friend of mine, sadly have to go.

       I love the woolen tartan fabric, but then I love everything Scottish. I doubt that I will find any ready-made tartan curtains as replacements. But these are just decorative, hanging on either side, so all I need is a little fabric. Um, I could sew them myself, but of course I’d have to go to Scotland to purchase the fabric. Maybe two tartan scarves would do the job?

    For now nothing is hanging. Winter is not a good time to go to Scotland.

Day 44/365 It’s time to go, all kinds of junk

     When there is piles of stuff to get rid of I just label it as junk (with a few sitters interspersed). I hope you don’t see anything you want, because, sorry, it’s too late. All these sitters, all this junk has either gone with my daughter, to the put-and-take or to the dump. It was a good day for letting go of stuff.

Day 42/365 It’s time to go, books

    Letting go of books was only part of today’s clearing out.

It was about dusting and reordering the books in the living room and even more. But I’ll just talk about the books.

The books we don’t want are stacked for our grown children to sort through. What they don’t want will go to, yup, you got it-- to the put-and-take or the church fair.

Day 43/365 It’s time to go, whatever you are

-->
     Hard to categorize these. Tools? Antique sitters? We found them years ago at a flea market. My husband was going to hang the wrench as a shelf, but that never happened. Instead, along with the pulley, it sat on the mantelpiece in the living room. We hate to let go of these, but love that our son-in-law is going to find a good place for them to sit.
