Day 118/365 It’s time to go, little trapezist

Regifting is one the best ways to let go of stuff, especially the stuff that I still love and want to keep. The problem is that after living in this house for close to forty years, I have way too many possessions in the category of love and want. So, this Christmas I gave my little wooden trapeze guy, who for years had been a fixture in the downstairs lavatory, to a friend who is a trapezist, herself.

She loves it; as she pushed the wooden sides to activate the little guy, I could tell that she was enjoying it as only a trapezist could—one trapezist to another.

Day 95, 365 It’s time to go, toys and games

We took the bags, stuffed with stuff fro the put-and-take, to my niece’s yesterday. Best estimate is that we came back with about half.

This weekend my husband will resort it once again; the good stuff to Good Will, the useless stuff to the dump. This doesn’t seem like a simple project to me, but once the bags get out of my truck, I’ll be able to let go of it all.

Day 93, 365 It’s time to go, books

We getting stuff ready to take to my niece’s tomorrow. It’s become part of our Thanksgiving tradition. I cook a turkey and prepare roasted potatoes; my husband gathers gifts from the put and take for each family member.

These books for the grownups are selected with care. It our version of monogramming.

The grab bags full of toys for the kids are not selected with care. How could we know what would delight them? I’ll let you know tomorrow.
