Mice in the kitchen drawer, it’s time to go. Day 193/365

    I feel really bad about this. I’ve had to put De-con in my kitchen drawer to get rid of a mouse, and probably his family as well. Even though I don’t know what else to do, the guilt is there.

     On another note, I haven’t done a very good job clearing, cleaning or letting to of stuff lately. Instead I’ve been visiting two ninety year-old friends, one in the hospital, one on hospice. For that, I feel no guilt.

Day 183/365 It’s time to go, three little robins.

      This has nothing to do with what we have accumulated or with our part in letting go of anything. Three weeks ago a pair of robins built a nest in the rhododendron bush next to our house. They came and went bringing sticks and leaves; then they came and went bringing seeds and worms. 

The three chicks grew and grew and then one afternoon they flapped their wings. But hey didn’t fledge, so we went to bed, expecting to view their launch in the morning. Alas, the next day the nest was empty. The young birds had let go all by themselves; they didn’t even say goodbye. 

 

Day 135/365 It’s time to go, Scuppers

     We enjoyed our grandpet’s visit for the week, but it was time for her to go back to her family today. I guess if she were ours, we’d work out a routine that didn’t involve letting her out at 2:15 in the morning.

Day 115/365 It’s time to go, jigsaw puzzle

     I finally finished this one. I’ve been working on it for months. It’s taken forever because at home I don’t have the same rhythm of time to work on jigsaw puzzles that I do here at the cottage. But we needed the dining room table for the holidays and I didn’t want to let it go without completing it. (Why is that I always am missing one piece?)

      This puzzle only had 500 pieces (minus one), but it was extremely time consuming. Sorting was simple: water and penguins. But then I had to match each piece to the picture, which took time, eye glasses and good lighting.

     My husband found it at the put-and-take, of course. If I can’t let it go to one of my puzzle friends, back he will take it in the spring.
