Before I tell you about my sewing machine, please note all the treasures
that my husband is about to take to the put-and-take. We want credit in case we
miss one of the 344 days remaining for us to let go of stuff. We wouldn’t want anyone to
think we were slacking off.
I hope someone will be elated to pick up the Singer sewing
machine that I bought when we were first married. It was one of those early
zig-zag ones. For years I zigged and zagged my own clothes. I took some
classes, and my high school French teacher taught me how to craft bound
buttonholes.
A few years ago when I took up quilting, I purchased a new machine.
Alas, this one would have been fine, but sadly, I was still into doing things
the American way—buy a new one!
