I’ll never run out of files, or so it seems. Today I tackled three small
file boxes filled with magazine clippings, quilting articles and templates, and
even a few of my meager attempts at painting. Nostalgic me wanted to keep most
of everything just in case..., but
the practical me said, “No way. Out, out, out.”
Throwing these papers away is a statement, if only to myself, that I am
finished with the craft phases of my life—at least any that are ‘material intense.’
But why, I
ask, am I keeping the empty file folders and boxes? If I am committed to
letting go of stuff, why not toss those as well? I guess I have to ease into
this. I’d hate to have to buy new ones, and besides, I like the array of bright
colors.
