We bought this bench at an antique shop years ago. Our TV and CD player
sit on it, so clearly we’re not moving it out.
But oh, all the stuff in those
drawers! It was time for it to go, most of it right into the trash. Unbelievable,
all the dried up glue tubes, nuts, bolts and nails, balloons, electrical cords
and plugs, playing cards, marbles, VCR tapes, you name it.
It was easier to go
through all the stuff than I had expected. I’d say we (my husband did most of
the throwing) kept no more than 10% of the contents--mainly tools and nails, a
few three-prong plugs, and, of all things, 21 napkin rings.
Very little was worthy of the put-and-take; most
went into a paper bag labeled ‘dump’, which in the end weighed in at 9 pounds.
