Day 77/365 It’s time to go, church fair treasures

    I’m late posting this, but not for lack of letting go. Today all the stuff, both ours and what we stored for others in our barn, went to the church to be sorted, priced and displayed for the fair this Saturday.

My pictures don’t do justice to all the work put in by many. As for our dining room, it is cleared and ready for dining. All I need is someone to cook.

Day 76/365 It’s time to go, good stuff that we don't want

 -->
        Written by a guest blogger, my husband.
Things are still making their steady way out of the house. Some of the items don’t always make it entirely off the property( getting only as far as the garage, where they sit quietly awaiting their fate.) Today's castaways include pictures and lamps, candles and sporting goods, and a few other miscellaneous pieces, now gathered into one pile, heading for the garage.

They will  be taken away by our daughter and son-in-law, or rejected and left for the church fair. My guess and hope is that at least 75% of these carefully chosen items will get the nod, and remain in the family, so to speak, starting a new life in another state.( I have no doubt they will take the picture of Nomar). Who knows about the rest?

Day 75/365 It’s time to go, papers in the files

-->
     I’ll never run out of files, or so it seems. Today I tackled three small file boxes filled with magazine clippings, quilting articles and templates, and even a few of my meager attempts at painting. Nostalgic me wanted to keep most of everything just in case..., but the practical me said, “No way. Out, out, out.”

      Throwing these papers away is a statement, if only to myself, that I am finished with the craft phases of my life—at least any that are ‘material intense.’
   But why, I ask, am I keeping the empty file folders and boxes? If I am committed to letting go of stuff, why not toss those as well? I guess I have to ease into this. I’d hate to have to buy new ones, and besides, I like the array of bright colors.

Day 74/365 It’s time to go, photos

    Does this count, getting rid of photos on iPhoto? Of course it does. My iPhoto is out of control with 5,280 photos. I’ve saved every, and I mean every, photo I’ve taken over the past four years. I easily have 300 of the sunrise at the cottage by the sea. Oh, but they’re all so special!!!

Then there are pictures of all the stuff I’ve been letting go of. So delete, delete, delete, here I go.

   I’m back, with very little to show for it. I displayed “photos” and deleted eighteen out of about one hundred. It’s a start and at best, I’m enjoying looking and remembering.
