t’s time to go, a few more books: 208/365

I
So far I’m doing a noble job just going through my stuff and leaving my husband’s for him to purge when he so chooses. Today, however, when I tried to get rid of an old book, I learned that he’s not ready yet.
    “What’s this?” he asked.
“Some old book. Do you want to get rid of it?”
“Oh, no. It’s fascinating. I’m going to read it.”
All I can say is that when I finish with my stuff, he’d better watch out. Lucky for him, that won’t be for a loooong while.

Today was meager pickings. I chose the bookshelf in the hall, only to discover that except for “Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle”, which I couldn’t possibly let go of, and the set of “Queen Lucia” books by E.F.Benson, which my mother-in-law trusted me to pass down the generations, all the books were my husband’s golf books.

It’s time to go, clothes in the closet: 207/365

The other day I cleared out under the bathroom sink and thought I’d get credit for getting rid of stuff. “But really, Bobs, you gotta do that anyway.”
Today, however, I want credit for getting rid of clothes that have been hanging unworn for years. Off they go to the church rummage sale or to my daughter to put on Ebay or sell at her neighborhood yard sale.

I couldn’t, however, get rid of the tartan skirt that my mom wore every Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember.

Junk in the drawers, it's time to go: 206/365

Lots going on around here so I took a little break from getting rid of stuff. But today, no excuse.
I love this old library file, I love it because it is old and was undoubtedly useful in a library back in ‘the olden days’. I love how it looks in our front hall, and I love that it is a useful receptacle for stuff. Every summer it stores our scarves, hats and mittens, and at one point it housed electrical cords.

Today as I went through each drawer, I made a pile of stuff that my husband might want. Let’s face it, you can’t have enough bungee cords or gardening sheers! I kept one hat, some candles, a few shoelaces, and a shoe brush. A few trinkets went in the yard sale bag and the rest of the stuff went in the trash.

It’s time to go, books: 205/365

I took the weekend off, well the weekend and one day. I’m doing the best I can; well, not the best, but I’m doing.
Today I got rid of ten books. That may not seem like many, but there’s more room on the shelf and space in my mind. The stash included a book about Mary Queen of Scots, some psychology and mythology books, and one about Scottish ancestry search. I couldn’t quite let go of my Tarot collection.
The books are in a bag to take to my daughter’s yard sale.
